Iraq War Exit: New Hampshire's Role in Securing a Responsible Exit from the Iraq War
Summer 2007
In the coming months, New Hampshire's U.S. Congressional Delegation will have several legislative opportunities to help end the war in Iraq, as well as the power to publicly speak out against the ongoing occupation. The voters in the 2006 mid-term elections in New Hampshire have articulated a clear mandate for peace. We ask our Congressional Delegation to do everything in their political power to responsibly end the Iraq war in 2007.

StandUpCongress.Org: The Online Anti-War Room
On February 12, Win Without War launched a website dedicated to being a "one-stop-shop" for citizens to navigate the Congressional labyrinth and take action to move Congress to begin the redeployment of U.S. troops from Iraq and prevent further escalation of war into Iran. StandUpCongress.org provides special online briefings from Members of Congress constructing the debate on Iraq and from Washington insiders that help us navigate the often confusing process. The website also lays out the important news on Iraq, a quick debrief, and opportunities for you to take action.

Maine "Special Delivery" Campaign to Bring Our Troops Home!
Spring 2007
At the end of April, Maine's US Senators faced crucial votes on the war in Iraq. Unfortunately, their voting records on the war were anything but encouraging. Without exception, they had voted with the president on every piece of binding legislation on the war in Iraq. In response to this situation, WWW launched an open-letter campaign to give a clear message to Senators Collins and Snowe:
"We believe it is time for a change. We want our Senators to start standing up to the partisan political pressures in Washington and representing the views and interests of Maine people on this crucial issue."
Between April 28 and May 5, more than 500 citizens joined us for rallies in Portland and Bangor and thousands of people signed the open letter to Senators Collins and Snowe. Additionally, after we met with the Portland Press-Herald, the paper reversed its position on the war.
The on-site campaign is over, but you can still sign the online open letter and show your support for Maine's antiwar effort.
Stay tuned for more on-site and on-line campaigns throughout the primary season.
